How TradeTask handles your data

TradeTask provides quoting and job management tools for trades businesses. This policy explains what information we collect through the site and app, why we collect it, and the controls you have.

Information we collect

  • Account details: name, email address, business information, authentication data, and billing/company settings you share.
  • Quotes & jobs: job titles, line items, customer contacts, photos, schedules, and notes you add while using the platform.
  • Usage data: device/browser metadata, logs, and diagnostics that help us keep the service secure and performant.
  • Support interactions: messages you send us (email or in-product feedback) so we can resolve issues.

How we use your information

  • Operate, maintain, and improve TradeTask, including personalising templates and automations for your trade.
  • Send essential service notifications (e.g., account security, feature updates) and optional product news—only if you opt in.
  • Monitor usage trends to plan capacity, troubleshoot issues, and inform product decisions.
  • Comply with legal requests or enforce our terms when required.

Sharing & storage

We do not sell your data. We rely on trusted vendors (Firebase for hosting/database/storage, analytics tools, and email providers) to deliver the product. They only process data on our behalf under strict agreements. Data is stored in secure cloud infrastructure, typically within the UK or EU where possible.

Cookies & tracking

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember preferences. We may use privacy-friendly analytics to understand aggregate usage. You can adjust browser settings to control cookies; however, blocking essential cookies could impact functionality.

Data retention

We retain account, quote, and job information while you maintain an account so you can reference past work. When you delete a quote, job, or account, we remove or anonymise related data unless we need to keep it to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes. Backup copies may persist for a limited period.

Security

Access to your account is protected by Firebase Authentication. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and rely on hardened, regularly patched infrastructure. Internally, access to production data is limited to authorised team members for support and maintenance purposes.

Your choices & rights

  • Review or update account details within the app.
  • Request data exports, corrections, or deletion by emailing privacy@tradetask.app.
  • Manage marketing preferences using the unsubscribe link in emails.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make significant changes, we’ll notify you in-app or via email. Continued use of TradeTask after changes go live means you accept the updated policy.
